The stage version of the humorous television series When talking to the dead filled the Tomás Terry theater, in the city of Cienfuegos, with two performances that constituted the premiere of this show in the country, starring actors Ray Cruz, Yaremis Pérez and Claudia Zaldívar, under the direction of screenwriter Amílcar Salatti.

“Given the impossibility of recording, for the moment, another season of the series, this choral idea arose and I immediately sat down to write it. It is the first time that I have written something for theater, and I took it on without any major pretensions, only with the aim of making people enjoy themselves, so that they come and have a pleasant time, relaxing and laughing, in the midst of such a difficult situation. which we are going through,” declared Amílcar Salatti.
The close interaction with the spectators and the sarcastic look at facts of Cuban reality marked the development of the work, while the laughter, applause and ovations validated its fundamental intention: to provide moments of enjoyment to families.
“If we take into account that the two characters (Indira and Miguelito) are from Potrerillo – a town in the municipality of Cruces –, we are happy to choose Cienfuegos for this first presentation. We are nobody without the public, and it is very fulfilling when they greet us and call us in the street, or their faces light up when they see us. That is priceless,” commented Yaremis Pérez.
The premiere of When talking to the dead, the show in the Pearl of the South it meant the return to Ray Cruz’s “Terry”, after the success here of his monologue Fatima and the Fraternity Park. “We had the responsibility,” he said, “to ensure that the characters of Indira and Miguelito did not disappear so quickly, and the public agreed with us. The theater was filled, even with children.
“Premiering the show in Cienfuegos has been a blessing, and now we will go to other Cuban provinces, with Fatima and When speaking…; This way people will be able to see me in two facets of acting, as they are very different characters,” he stated.
