The date remembers the day it was signed, at the initiative of Carlos Enrique Pellegrini (father of President Carlos Pellegrini), the resolution by which Engineering was incorporated into the UBA curriculum in 1865..
From then on, a select class of students began to attend and each of them received a degree from civil engineer on June 6, 1870. In honor of that event, on that day the Engineering Day in Argentinaa event which also exalts the figure of Luis Huergoone of the professionals graduated from that class, who carried out important infrastructure projects for the country.
