This week, labor conflicts intensify in Río Negro and Neuquén. The Education Workers Union (Unter) carried out a strike and agreed to carry out another next week. In addition, the Private Oil and Gas Workers Union of Río Negro, Neuquén and La Pampa also agreed to carry out forceful measures next week.
The Unter union called an urgent joint meeting for Tuesday, June 18. If they are not called, they announced a strike for Wednesday, June 19. In addition, a Congress is planned on June 25 to define the continuity of the fight plan.
The measure was taken after the rejection of the proposal presented by the Río Negro government in the joint meeting on June 12, which they considered “insufficient in terms of salary recomposition, both in remuneration amounts and by position.”
In the last measure of force on June 14, «and98% of education workers in Río Negro joined the strike, with denunciation activities in all sections against the provincial government,” the union reported.
Oil workers prepare for strike with “affectation to production” this Tuesday
On the other hand, the Private Oil and Gas Workers Union of Río Negro, Neuquén and La Pampa announced a two-day strike for next week, starting on Tuesday, June 18 with “affectation to production«.
«This Tuesday the 18th starting at 8 we will stop for 48 hours. with production affected. Here no one is less or deserves to be below the poverty line,” they stated this Saturday from the X account.
The conflict centers on the salaries of the so-called «8-hour workers», who mostly perform tasks in service company bases and who, according to the union, receive salaries below the basic basket line, between 600,000 and 800,000 pesos.
Last Wednesday a meeting was held between the union and more than 30 companies based in the Chamber of Hydrocarbon Producing Companies (CEPH) and Special Services (Ceope)in it there was a point of contention: the salaries of the initial workers in the services segment.
Both unions stated their decision to continue with forceful measures until satisfactory solutions are obtained to their claims.
