The District Mayor’s Office of Santa Marta, through the Ministry of Health, has issued Resolution No.005 of June 14, 2024, declaring the Hospital Yellow Alert in the Tourist and Historical District of Santa Marta. This measure, which will be in effect from 12:00 pm on June 14 to 12:00 pm on June 30, 2024, aims to guarantee the adequate provision of health services in the event of possible emergencies arising from the current rainy season. .
The Secretary of District Health has indicated that the alert implies the implementation of contingency plans in all health institutions, both public and private. These provisions include preparation for an immediate and effective response in case of emergencies, ensuring the operational availability of medical supplies and personnel.
Specific actions to implement during this period include:
- Priority in Emergencies: Emergency events will be prioritized over outpatient procedures.
- Resources and Personnel: Institutions must strengthen their medical teams in emergency departments and ensure they have the necessary medical supplies.
- Call Chain: A call chain will be activated for all health personnel if required.
- Communication: There will be constant communication with the Regulatory Center for Emergencies, Emergencies and Disasters (CRUE) to notify any event of public health or epidemiological interest.
