Norbey de Jesús Gallo Acevedo, 57 years old, included in the most wanted poster for committing crimes against women in Antioquia and accused of sexually abusing a minor under 14 years of age, turned himself in in Rionegro.

Two months after the publication of said poster, the Government of Antioquia reported that six men have been detained – four captures and two surrenders – in different municipalities of Antioquia and the country, for being responsible for crimes such as violent sexual acts, violent carnal access and feminicide.

The security secretary of Antioquia, retired general Luis Eduardo Martínez, highlighted the effectiveness of the poster to achieve judicialization of attacking women in the department.

Also read:

“He surrendered to the authorities thanks to the pressure generated by being visible in one of these cartels, one more subject, who had an arrest warrant for an abusive sexual act with a minor under fourteen years of age. There are already six criminals for gender violence handed over or captured.”

The Government of Antioquia offers up to $50 million for information that allows the capture of the other eleven men who are wanted by the authoritieswith a current arrest warrant, for committing gender-based crimes.
