On Tuesday, the Water Center of the Universidad San Sebastián (USS) announced that 20 out of 25 monitored reservoirs by the General Directorate of Water (DGA) of the Ministry of Public Works they increased their level compared to what they had last week.
After the heavy rains that have occurred throughout the country in recent weeks, is that at the national level it was recorded that the dammed water currently reaches 53% of its capacity.

The situation in other reservoirs in Chile
Through the report, it was also reported that the reservoirs located from the Valparaíso region to the south show good levels to date.
Examples of this are: Old Convent (96%), Rappelling (91%) and Ralco (91%). With the exception of Laguna del Maule, which is at 48% of its capacity, all the rest exceed 50%.
“In recent years Chile has suffered very severely from drought with drinking water problems in rural sectors and other great difficulties for agriculture, so the call we make is to think about the water infrastructure of the future, to think about new reservoirs for those areas that require it and where our mountain range allows its construction,” Errázuriz concluded.
