Cinema at school reached seven places and communes in the Colón department

Some 350 students, teachers and directors from nine schools enjoyed the screenings held last week. The agenda implemented by the Secretary of Culture of Entre Ríos, through the Audiovisual Institute (IAER), continues the tour of the province prioritizing accessibility.

During last Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the program Cinema at school It offered seven functions, attracting 350 students, teachers and administrators. The proposal reached nine schools at the Initial, Primary, Secondary and Special Education levels. In this way, seven places, boards, communes and municipalities of the Colón department had access to the cinema: Humaitá, San Gregorio, Sixth District, Berduc, Pueblo Cazes, San Huberto and Ubajay.

In this sense, it is worth noting that the educational establishments that participated were the following: Schools No. 26 Bases, of San Gregorio; No. 27 Mariquita Sánchez de Thompson, from the Sixth District; No. 28 Juan Chassaing, from Humaitá; No. 67 Islas Malvinas, by Berduc; Therapeutic Center No. 2, Ubajay; No. 4 José María Molina, from Ubajay; N°16 Pueblo Cazes, from Pueblo Cazes; No. 74 Antarctica Argentina, from Pueblo Cazes; and No. 81 Fray Mamerto Esquiú, of San Huberto.

Some data to highlight is that in Humaitá, the Audiovisual Institute of Entre Ríos (IAER), dependent on the Ministry of Culture of the province, returned after 24 years. And it was the first time that films were shown for schools in Berduc, the Sixth District and San Hubert.

“I think it is very important that these types of events take place, especially because the children of my school in particular, and the other rural schools, have very few opportunities to see a movie in other circumstances, since many do not have the means of transportation to go out and access screenings. We love the idea that the kids are having a lot of fun and so are we, the teachers, because we laugh with all of them at the movies that were shown. I would like the visit and the proposal to be repeated during the year,” said Professor Mirtha Benítez, director of School No. 28 Juan Chassaing, in Humaitá.

For her part, Sonia Schneider, head of the Culture Area of the Municipality of Ubajay, also made an evaluation of the shared activity: “It was a spectacular and very emotional experience that left us with a lot of learning. For children from rural schools it is the opportunity (to access cinema) that they have. Perhaps they do not have the possibility that we have in Ubajay, being closer to the route; In this sense, the children of the colonies do not have it.” Next, she highlighted “that they joined the Therapeutic Center for people with disabilities, so it was also an inclusive day.”

And he added that “the balance of this experience is positive. The first thing I want to express is my gratitude, since the different films were worked on with the teachers and directors.” He then thanked him for the possibility of having the program, since – he said – he has been working in the area of Culture for seven years and they had been requesting film screening for a long time. “Now we were given an immediate response, thank you very much for this very fruitful activity and we hope from the community that it will be repeated,” she said.

The provincial tour will continue

The program agenda, which aims to prioritize the accessibility of rural and urban schools in the province, will continue with scheduled functions in María Grande Primera and Paso de la Arena, in the Paraná department; and XX of September of the Nogoyá department.
