SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Golf Federation (Fedogolf), in collaboration with Mastercard Banreservas, announced the long-awaited return of the 2024 National Match Play Championships.

After several years without being held, this prestigious event is once again part of the tournaments that Fedogolf will hold annually. On this occasion, the spectacular setting of Punta Espada, in Cap Cana, Destination City, was chosen on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30.

The tournament will have 13 categories, including the professional category, which will offer a purse of $400,000 pesos, of which $300,000 will be awarded to the winner, thanks to the sponsorship of Cap Cana Ciudad Destino.

The participating players have been selected from the first eight positions in each category of the recent National Stroke Play Championships, guaranteeing a high level of competition in this event. The initial phase will be played on the morning of June 29, followed by the semifinals on the afternoon of the same day, and the finals will be played on Sunday, June 30 to determine the champions of each category.

Those players who occupied the first two places in each category in the last National Stroke Play Championships will be exempt from payment to participate in this event, which will be held in one of the 50 best golf courses in the world, according to the magazine’s 2024 Ranking. Golf Digest.

The National Match Play Championships have the main sponsorship of Mastercard Banreservas, Cap Cana Ciudad Destino and Margaritaville Cap Cana. In addition, they receive the collaboration of Agua Magnus.
