Members of the Gendarmerie Anti-Drug Operations Squadron advanced an investigation into a transnational organization in a coordinated action with eleven simultaneous raids in three provinces and nine detainees.

The authorization from the Federal Court No. 3 of Rosario and PROCUNAR came after an investigation where they confirmed how following the arrest of a citizen nicknamed “Manudo”, his criminal organization continued with illicit activities.

As a result of this fact, officials were able to establish how several people involved in an organized manner and with specific roles coordinated logistically between suppliers and distributors the movements of important loads of cocaine.

Rural areas located in the province of Salta and Santiago del Estero were used to unload the narcotic introduced by small planes from Bolivia.

The secondary roads on the side of national route No. 34 were used to carry out the concealment in trucks with their final destination in the province of Buenos Aires.

With sufficient evidence and facts against those involved, the Force personnel managed to intercept drug shipments.

Last week the intervening magistrate ordered the inspection of seven homes in Salta, three in Santiago del Estero and one in the Federal Penitentiary Complex I of Ezeiza in the cell where the leader of the gang is isolated as a “high risk” prisoner.

As a result of the investigations, nine members were arrested, firearms (a shotgun, a pistol and ammunition), cell phones and documents of interest were seized.

The investigation had three notable milestones. In April 2023, the gendarmes in the Cruz Bajada area (Santiago del Estero) had an armed confrontation with members of that illicit association where they detained three citizens (including its leader “Manudo”) and kidnapped high-caliber weapons. such as an automatic rifle, ammunition and radio equipment.

In March 2023, 426 kilos of cocaine were seized among a load of beans at the General Lago Tollgate on National Route No. 9 at the height of the Buenos Aires-Santa Fe Highway. At the end of last year, 56 kilos of cocaine were seized between a shipment of bananas.
