Although tomorrow, Monday, June 17, will be a civic day, and it will be a date that implies certain flexibility in work activities in the official sector and in private entities, finally the peak and plate will govern in the metropolitan area.

The mayor of Bucaramanga, Jaime Andrés Beltrán Martínez confirmed to Vanguardia that this vehicle restriction will remain in force: “We understand that the date is special for the city, but the vehicle restriction is essential to mitigate congestion and improve mobility,” he explained.

Thus, motorcycles and private cars that will not be able to circulate tomorrow, June 17, between 6:00 am and 8:00 pm, will be those whose last digits of their license plates are 1 and/or 2. (See board)

“We invite drivers to comply with the measure and plan their routes in advance,” added Beltrán Martínez.

The decision has been made with the objective of prevent the celebration of Civic Day from generating a significant increase in vehicular traffic and, consequently, a negative impact on the flow of traffic in the city.

The Mayor also called on citizens to use public transportation or sustainable mobility alternatives, to reduce the use of private vehicles: “It is important that we are all aware of the need to work together to improve mobility in Bucaramanga. Citizen collaboration is key to achieving this objective.”
