Neighbors and family support the Mondelez staff in the streets of Viana

The workers of the multinational Mondelez, the former Marbú cookie factory, demonstrated this Sunday in the Navarrese town of Viana supported by dozens of neighbors who listened to the demands of the staff, who have been on strike for just a week today. The strikes They will continue this Monday and, according to staff representatives, they will continue until the agreement includes salary increases above the CPI.

A large part of the four hundred employees of the cookie company, half of them from Rioja, gathered in the Navarrese municipality square. There they read a statement in which they expressed their discomfort at the company’s “intentions” to sign a collective agreement “that goes against the workers.”

According to what they said, the management of Mondelez, “having large profits”, “only” offers an increase in the real CPI. The workers also criticize that the multinational intends to include a variable salary increase with which they consider that “it seeks nothing more than to generate tension among the workforce.”
