Planting 2,000 trees will give new lung to San José

Initiative will transform the lives of 50 families in León XIII and generate green employment for women

With the aim of improving the environment and the local economy, the planting 2 thousand trees along the northern ring road in Saint Joseph.

This effort will not only beautify the city, but will also provide essential habitat for birds and pollinators, as well as generate green jobs for around 50 women from the León XIII community.

During the start of this initiative, 60 volunteers They participated in the planting of the first trees.

Planted species include Acerola, Guitite, Tucuico, Vainillo, Yellow Cortez, White Capulín and Bitter Cedar, among others.

The plantation aims to turn this area into a new green lung for the capital, improving the quality of life and promoting biodiversity.

The project called La Gota opens an important and significant path towards a greener, more egalitarian and sustainable San José with the creation of value from responsible and ethical practices.

Nazira Burgos, Manager of Institutional Relations and Sustainability of Coopenae, highlighted that this project is part of the Coopenae Forest initiative.

In addition to contributing to environmental sustainability, it seeks social equity and economic development, generating a positive impact on local families and communities.

Collaboration between various actors has been key to the success of this initiative. Collaborators and associates of Coopenae, members of the León Go back to Dream and civil society.

This project is not limited to tree plantationas it involves a five-year monitoring and maintenance plan to ensure that the trees grow and thrive, guaranteeing a lasting impact.
