Through two resolutions published in the Official Gazette of the province, the Buenos Aires Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services proposed a new increase in tolls on provincial routes. The Hearing on the issue will be held on July 22 and in it the concessionaire, Aubasa, must present “the technical, economic, financial and legal foundations of the proposal to adjust rates and the quarterly update methodology.”

The concessionaire based the request for an increase on “the mismatch that occurs when updating the prices of the main components of the exploitation, conservation, maintenance and support services items,” which is why it proposes “the use of an index that adequately reflects the cost of operation in the current inflationary context and that allows maintaining the quality of services and the safety of users.”

The request for increases invokes “the mismatch that occurs when updating the prices of the main components of the exploitation, conservation, maintenance and support services items”

The tolls subject to adjustment are those of the Buenos Aires-La Plata Highway and the corridors to the Atlantic Coast.

The call and the hearing arranged by the head of the provincial Infrastructure portfolio, Gabriel Katopodisformer Minister of National Infrastructure during the government of Alberto Fernandez and today one of the fifteen ministers of the provincial cabinet of the government of Axel Kicillof (two other senior officials from the previous national government today in the provincial cabinet are the former Minister of Economy, Silvina Batakisand the former Secretary of Justice, Juan Martin Mena)

The concessionaire proposes to update the tariff schedule on a quarterly basis based on the variation in the Tariff Variation Coefficient (CVT), an indicator that – as noted – “reasonably contemplates the company’s cost structure, since it weights the general level Salary Index. registered worker (IS), the Internal Wholesale Prices (IPIM) and the General Level Consumer Price Index (CPI), all published by the INDEC.”

The increase would be applied after the Hearing on Monday, July 22 at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services in La Plata and the new values would come into force from the beginning of August.

In this way, the minimum rate during peak hours for cars would increase from 500 to 1,300 pesos for the highway between CABA and the south of the suburbs and for tolls to the coast the price would increase from 1,800 to 4,300 pesos.

The increase would be applied once the administrative process of citizen consultation has been completed, that is, the Hearing to be held on Monday, July 22 in the Auditorium room of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services in La Plata, with which it is estimated that the increases They would become effective and come into effect from the beginning of August.
