On Tuesday at 9, in the Golden Hall of the Legislature of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, the event “The Legislature speaks about the ELA” will be held, organized by the Pro legislator within the Vamos por Más bench, Silvia Imas , and the Esteban Bullrich Foundation.

The activity is carried out within the framework of ALS Month (acronym for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) with the commitment to support its visibility and make access more flexible for all those who require it.

ALS is a progressive condition of motor neuron degeneration that causes symptoms of muscle weakness and atrophy.

Both the members of the foundation and their volunteers will be present at the event, who will talk about the disease: diagnosis, causes and especially, the process of accompanying patients in the difficult transition of the disease.

The opening of the event will be led by Imas and the speakers will be the executive director of the Esteban Bullrich Foundation, Agustina Bugnard, and the person in charge of patient and family support; Fernando Dominguez.

Medical teams from different hospitals in the city, psychologists and social help teams will participate.

The Foundation’s axes are supporting patients and families, training students in related careers, and disseminating and raising awareness about the disease.

The event was declared of Socio-Sanitary Interest by the Buenos Aires Legislature in the session held on May 16.
