From lowest to highest and thanks to the bonus: another analysis of sales for Father’s Day

The week before Father’s Day saw a drop in sales compared to 2023. However, in some commercial centers an average ticket higher than the provincial average was observed, reaching $30,000 according to Argentine Chamber of Medium Enterprises (CAME), while in the City of San Juan it was of $45,000. This result exceeded the expectations, since a more pronounced fall was anticipated.

In all the commercial centers of the province the situation was analyzed in a similar way. “The week started with lower sales and progressively improved,” commented Marcelo Quiroga, holder of the United Chamber of Merchants of San Juanin an interview with Zonda Diario. The majority of San Juan residents chose to make their purchases at the last minute, possibly influenced by the recent payment of bonuses to state workers.

Gaston Villordo, owner of the Rawson Shopping Center, also highlighted to this medium the trend of concentrated sales in recent days, reflecting a different pattern from previous years where sales were more distributed in the days prior to Father’s Day. In addition, he highlighted that the largest amount of purchases went to butcher shops.

“It is notable how the impact of the bonus and interest-free fees translated into a significant increase in visitors and sales,” stated, for his part, Marcelo Quiroga. He further recognized the crucial role of offers and strategies of sales implemented to attract consumers.

“We want to thank CAME, the Economic, Industry and Commerce Federation of San Juan, as well as the Chamber of United Merchants, for offering various benefits such as raffles, wine gifts and numerous offers,” mentioned.

“Although sales exceeded our expectations in most stores, with an average ticket of $45,000, did not reach the units sold during Father’s Day 2023, which were a 10% higher”said Quiroga.

“Despite this, it is crucial to continue working to improve and achieve our future goals,” he reflected.

“Events and promotions like these benefit both merchants and consumers, creating an environment of prosperity and satisfaction for both parties,” he concluded.
