Between January 1 and June 14, the femicides of:
Lorena Patricia Avendaño, 41 years old, in the municipality of Usiacuri, on March 5. She was a victim of feminicide through mechanical asphyxiation.

The woman was a victim of feminicide through mechanical asphyxiation and multiple blows by her partner Jorge Luis Duran, who is still wanted by the authorities.
On Saturday, April 6, in the La Ilusión neighborhood of Soledad, she was murdered with 12 stab wounds. Edith Paola Barrero Vargasby his romantic partner, identified as Jan Pierre Cardozo Padilla, who also registers judicial notes for different crimes.

Femicides in 2023
The concern over the numbers of crimes against women so far in 2024 are extremely notable compared to those in 2023, from whatever point of view you look at it, causing alarm in the Atlantic community.
The previous year recorded 44 murdered women in its 12 months, 41 of them victims of homicide and 3 victims of feminicide.
The first case of feminicide in 2023 was recorded on January 5 in the municipality of Galapa.

Of the 41 homicide victims last year, Barranquilla registered 18 cases, Soledad with 13 and Malambo with 7 incidents and one case in each of the following municipalities: Puerto Colombia, Palmar de Varela and Sabanalarga.
