The Colombian Geological Service (SGC) reported that the seismic events and seismic energy at the Puracé volcano, in the department of Cauca, showed low levels during the afternoon of Sunday, June 16.

Although the presence of gases typical of volcanic activity such as carbon dioxide (CO2) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) maintained the trend that has been observed since the end of May.

For this reason, the orange alert is maintained, since although “the monitored parameters (seismicity, degassing and soil deformation among others) decrease or are oscillatory, in the sense of increasing some days and decreasing others, “This does not imply that the volcano has returned to its normal levels of activity,” stood out in the SGC.
