GOL Líneas Aereas, Brazil’s largest airline, will have a new destination in Central America starting in November 2024. San José (SJO), capital of Costa Rica, will be served by GOL with its own non-stop operations from São Paulo/Guarulhos (GRU). The novelty is part of GOL’s purpose to increasingly integrate the countries of the region, promoting tourism in the Americas and business trips.

The unprecedented operation between the São Paulo international airport and the Costa Rican capital will begin on November 12, 2024, with departure at 1:55 p.m. and arrival at 6:25 p.m. (local time) – three hours behind Brasilia time. The return flight is scheduled to take off from Juan Santamaría International Airport in San José at 8:40 p.m. and land in São Paulo at 7:10 a.m. There will be three weekly frequencies.
San José is the gateway to various tourist attractions in the Central American country, rich in a diversity of beaches that attract surfers from all over the world, various national parks and forest reserves, countless waterfalls, dozens of volcanoes and a wide hotel network that satisfies the different needs of travelers.

The flights between Guarulhos and San José will be operated in Boeing 737 MAX 8 models, the most sustainable aircraft in the GOL fleet, which in its international configuration has capacity for 176 passengers.
Brazilian travelers entering Costa Rica do not need a visa, as long as their stay in the country is up to 90 days. However, it is necessary to present an international yellow fever certificate, with the vaccine administered at least 10 days before the date of shipment.
