With tank trucks, the Bogotá Aqueduct is currently responding to a water emergency in Chapinero, due to damage to the pipes on Carrera 7 and Calle 38. The situation forced the entity to suspend the water supply in at least 15 neighborhoods of the town, which are added to the rationing of this Monday, June 17, which corresponds to shift number 5.

The Sewer and Aqueduct Company reported that the affected perimeter goes from Carrera 3 to Carrera 12, between Calle 26 and Calle 69. The neighborhoods are: Pardo Rubio, Cataluña, Bosque Calderón, La Salle, Granada, Chapinero Central , Sucre, Sacred Heart, La Merced, San Martín, National Park, Perseverancia, María Cristina, San Diego and La Macarena.
To supply the water service in these areas, the EAAB moved tank trucks with water, while the pipe repair work is being carried out. The entity reminded the community that they can request visits or other arrangements at Aqualine 116.
Citizens expressed on social networks the situation they are experiencing at this time in the town: “Every time they restore the service, after the scheduled closures, the water pipes burst in Chapinero. We have had a broken pipe for 24 hours, without water and without answers,” complained one user.
The Acueducto, however, promised to restore service as soon as possible: “The EAAB expresses its commitment to the community to quickly resolve this situation and normalize the water supply as soon as possible,” the entity said in a statement.
