Thousands of Latinos look for a chance at life in the United States every year, and many of them return to their country of origin deported for not having the necessary documentation, or for other violations of US law. Among them, too high-profile deportees are foundwho can be criminals wanted for serious crimes in other countriessuch as homicide, gang-related crimes, corruption and fraud.
The agents of the Enforcement and Deportation Operations division (ERO) of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), They are responsible for enforcing immigration law inside the countrywith the objective of preserving national security and public safety.
Based on its work, ICE presented statistics, which place Colombia in position fivewith 1,854 convicted criminals, 577 citizens with pending charges and 13,599 deported for other reasons.
Likewise, the organization highlights that the statistics “are published with a quarter delay in data“, and clarifies that “future quarter-end and year-end reports may include corrections and other updates.”
The majority of citizens deported by ICE belong to Mexico.

Through publication on its website, the ICE established that the countries with the most citizens deported from the United States are:
- Mexico: 99,173 convicted criminals, 14,085 citizens with pending charges and 24,422 citizens deported for other violations of the law
- Guatemala: 14,010 convicted criminals, 4,652 citizens with pending charges and 34,243 citizens deported for other violations of the law
- Honduras: 14,077 convicted criminals, 4,012 citizens with pending charges and 30,155 citizens deported for other violations of the law
- El Salvador: 7,075 convicted criminals, 1,448 citizens with pending charges and 14,033 citizens deported for other violations of the law
