Change of route in the fourth stage of the Vuelta a Colombia 2024 – Colombian Cycling Federation



The Colombian Cycling Federation reports that the fourth stage of the Vuelta a Colombia 2024, scheduled for this Tuesday, June 18, will have a change compared to the original route.

The race authorities established that the arrival of the stage will take place in the Alto del Sifón (third category mountain prize), over 4,149 meters high, so the fraction will have a route of 116 kilometers, starting from Mariquita and will cross through Guayabal Armero, Lebanon and Murillo.

This change cancels the Alto de Letras mountain prize and the last 27 kilometers of the initially scheduled route.

The presentation of the Teams will take place between 7:00 and 7:48 in the morning, while the start of the race will take place around 8:00 am.

This change was approved after the meeting held by the Safety Committee of the race, which after analyzing the meteorological, environmental and safety conditions that arise due to the closure of the lane on the Murillo-Manizales road, in the jurisdiction of the municipality of Villamaría, Caldas and after the fall of plant material and rocks, it was determined that the route must be shortened in order to safeguard the integrity of the athletes and the caravan of the Vuelta a Colombia 2024.
