Universidad del Magdalena launches specialization in sports training

The students of the first cohort of the new program at the University of Magdalena had the privilege of witnessing an enriching conversation about sports training. The event had the notable participation of the football technical director, Jorge Luis Pinto Afanador, and the Colombian biomechanist, José Acero Jáuregui.

The Rector of the University, Doctor Pablo Vera Salazar, enthusiastically presented the Specialization in Sports Training, an innovative program that places the institution at the forefront of postgraduate offerings. For years, the University of Magdalena has worked hard to provide high-quality training in the sports field.

The academic curriculum of this specialization includes the latest trends in sports training, thus responding to the manifest needs of athletes and professionals in the area. Rector Vera Salazar emphasized that sport is not only a practice, but also a science, and training must go hand in hand with research.

In addition, the University has demonstrated its commitment by creating programs such as the Professional in Sports and the Labor Technician in Personal Trainer and Physical Conditioning Fitness. Likewise, the Center for Research in High Performance Sports and Biomedical Studies (SportSci) has become a reference for the academic community and athletes.

The Rector stressed that two special places have been reserved for high-performance athletes in each undergraduate program, which has generated significant results in areas such as athletics.
