The Government of Magdalena delegated a humanitarian brigade that was responsible for guaranteeing the health and delivery of Popular Solidarity Markets to 130 families that were affected by floods in the district of Chinoblas, rural area of ​​Pivijay.

These food supplies were delivered through the Ministry of Environment, Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change of the Government.

In total, there were 80 non-perishable food kits donated to the same number of homes, in which it was detected that they urgently required this type of aid, according to a report from the Municipal Risk Management Committee.

In this regard, the head of the Government’s Disaster Risk Management functional area, Luis Caicedo, stated that “among the foods are: rice, sugar, coffee, oil, chocolate, corn flour, panela, pasta, salt, beans, powdered milk, tuna and lentils.”

For her part, the Secretary of Departmental Health, Diana Celedón, pointed out that her portfolio was in charge of offering medical assistance to the 130 affected families, in general.

“By the guidelines of Governor Rafael Martínez, we sent 24 doctors who are part of the Basic Health Teams to the town of Chinoblas. The affected population has 130 homes which were completely intervened; and under the requirement of medical evaluation, 60 affected people were treated. Most of them have had fevers, colds and skin conditions, which is why it was necessary to take vital signs, house-to-house general medical care, psychological care and health information and education on the management of water and wastewater. vector diseases that occur during this time of winter,” the official reported.

Likewise, the head of the Ministry of Health assured that they will be given medicines and support with household goods and non-perishable food from the local administration.
