Dengue, gender and domestic violence and injuries caused by animals potentially transmitting rabies, occupy the first three places of notification in the epidemiological bulletin of the last week of the Casanare Health Secretariat.

Gender and domestic violence occupies an alarming third place in the statistics, followed by attempted suicide with 110 reported cases that relate to the group of events of interest in public health called Mental Health and External Injuries, a situation that alerts authorities that seek citizen collaboration to address and prevent conflicts generated by mental health issues,

In the bulletin of the Ministry of Health, collective events of 20,887 care in the outpatient, hospitalization and emergency services are reported: 13,546 for acute respiratory infection and 7,431 for acute diarrheal disease. Of the reported cases, 727 are due to dengue with warning signs, 17 are severe dengue and 5 cases of mortality due to dengue (one confirmed and four under study). The department’s notification rate is 475.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, surpassed by the municipalities of Paz de Ariporo, Chámeza, Tauramena, Támara, Hato Corozal and Nunchía.

Gender and domestic violence, in third place, accounts for 10 percent of the reported cases, with a notification rate of 107.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, surpassed by San Luis de Palenque, Támara, Villanueva, Pore, Trinidad , Hato Corozal, Sácama, Maní and Recetor. During 2024, La Salina has not reported cases.

Considering that gender and domestic violence is in third place and attempted suicide in fourth place with 110 cases, they belong to the group of events of interest in public health called Mental Health and Injuries of External Causes, the Ministry of Health makes a series of recommendations to protect mental health, such as leading a healthy lifestyle, taking care of the quality of sleep, keeping your mind busy and asking for help when you consider necessary.
