A DANA to say goodbye to spring

Tuesday, June 18, 2024, 12:14

From reaching the heat risk threshold to recovering cool temperatures under the threat of storms. In the thermal roller coaster that is characterizing this spring, La Rioja will say goodbye to the season with a new descent and the arrival on Thursday of a DANA.

Summer does not arrive as early as in previous years, at least with that continuity of maximums, and after a few days of temperatures close to or even above thirty degrees, colder weather returns. This Tuesday the heat will continue, although with increasing cloudiness it will reduce the sensation of sultry.

It will be tomorrow, Wednesday, when the contrast begins to be felt due to the entry of a trough that arrives from the Nordic countries, as reported by Aemet La Rioja, which will cause the first rainfall from midday and a drop in maximum temperatures, which will remain at around 25º in the towns of the Ebro valley. In addition, this will lead to the lowering of the alert level for fires from extreme, where it is now, to high and, on Thursday, to low.

And on the last day of spring, La Rioja will have a cool day, with thermometers that may not exceed twenty degrees in many areas of the region, and guaranteed rainfall. Between the last hours of Wednesday and the first hours of Thursday, the formation of a DANA will change the panorama of the region to bid farewell with rain and mild temperatures to three months of a spring of ups and downs.

La Rioja will enter summer on Friday with a more normalized situation, leaving behind that cool parenthesis and gradually increasing temperatures at the end of the week in which clear skies will return.
