The Civil Guard has arrested, this morning, a 49-year-old man as the alleged perpetrator of the brutal attack on the young woman, 28 years old, who was raped in Albelda three months ago in Albelda de Iregua (La Rioja), and for the that another 43-year-old man – who is in prison – was arrested on April 15. The brutal beating occurred this Monday afternoon on a farm located near Erras Street in the Riojan town. The victim received multiple blows all over his body, as well as several cuts on his abdomen and forearm, and was taken to the San Pedro de Logroño Hospital. Once the proceedings are completed, the detainee will be placed at the disposal of the judicial authority. The attack generated a high degree of indignation and neighborhood tension in the town, which motivated various citizens to heat up the atmosphere through stigmatization and. marginalization towards the residents in the so-called ‘Barrio de Arriba’.
