“We have two alternatives to provide drinking water coverage to the populations of the coastal zone that are needed for the service such as Punta Astillero, Bocatocino and El Cerrito. Firstly, the idea is to work to connect the northern aqueduct to the coastal aqueduct, which would imply the construction of a pumping station to redistribute water to these towns. Also, we evaluate the option of desalinating the water for some 120 homes because the community has asked us to, but we have to do some analysis because the users would have to pay for the operation, so we hope to evaluate all the possibilities and make the decision that most benefits the municipality,” he said.
