The Fourth Guarantee Court of Santiago established the formalization of the president of the board of directors of Clínica Las Condes, Alejandro Gilfor alleged crimes of misappropriation. The hearing will take place on August 6 at 11 a.m.after a complaint filed by a group of doctors.
A group of doctors filed a criminal complaint against Gil, Clínica Las Condes SA, Ignacio Tapia Hortuvia and other possible responsible parties, accusing them of misappropriation and unfair administration. The complaint focuses on non-payment of committed fees to doctors who provided services through companies.
“Clínica Las Condes SA has stopped paying in a timely manner the medical fees for the services I have provided., both in his own name and on behalf of the companies,” the complaint states. The lack of payments affects not only doctors, but also auxiliary personnel involved in surgeries and medical procedures.
According to the background of the case, since the beginning of 2021, the clinic has failed to pay most of the fees derived from surgeries and procedures, as well as has unjustifiably delayed the fees corresponding to outpatient care. “This not only affects medical professionals, but also the rest of the team involved in surgery.as arsenal workers and nurses,” the complaint adds.
Las Condes Clinic in default
Clínica Las Condes SA admitted that some payments are in arrears for more than a year, which, according to the complaint, constitutes a serious breach. In addition, the clinic has not provided information on the efforts made to obtain effective payment from patients, which could lead to a delay of almost two years without complying with the obligations of the mandate, Diario Financiero reports.

This is not the first scandal in which Alejandro Gil has been involved. During the pandemic, Gil was accused of receiving the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine before the rest of the population, even when some had not yet received the first dose.
