A A 70-year-old man was captured in the municipality of San Roque, in the northeast of Antioquia, for allegedly abusing a 10-year-old girl. The accused took advantage of his proximity to an educational institution to abuse the minor.
The National Police, through a statement, indicated that the subject took advantage of the girl’s innocence to invite her to his business with the excuse of helping her with her school purchases or with household errands. Once inside the premises, the man inappropriately touched the minor’s private parts, a situation that was repeated on several occasions.
After the case was reported, the authorities began an investigation that allowed the capture of the person responsible and the imposition of a security measure in a prison by the Attorney General’s Office.
In 2024, the Criminal Investigation Section of the National Police of Antioquia, within the Strategy for the Protection of Children and Adolescents, captured 145 people for crimes against the integrity, freedom and sexual training of boys, girls and adolescents.
Only in May and so far in June, 35 people were captured who violate the rights of children and adolescents.
The authorities invite the community to report any incident that violates their rights.
