When is the promise to the flag made?
The pledge to the flag is a tradition that is carried out in Argentina, generally by 4th grade primary school students. The promise ceremony is usually carried out on one of the main national dates, in commemoration of the birth of the General Manuel Belgrano, creator of the Argentine flag.

Historical origin of the promise to the flag
The pledge to the flag is rooted in ancestral social practices and consists of a reworking of the ancient oath. The universal custom It is inspired by the oath of fidelity that the troops took. The date was established to honor Belgrano, lawyer, politician, military man and economist, who designed and raised the Argentine flag for the first time in 1812.
The blue and white flag became the national symbol and was made official in 1816. Flag Day is an immovable national holiday that is celebrated every year on June 20.
