After concluding the application process on April 6, between June 11 and July 10, the evaluation process and subsequent prioritization of the 35 proposals declared admissible to access the Media Promotion Fund will be carried out. Social, Provincial Regional and Communal of the year 2024.

The information was released by Aysén’s Government Seremi Tatiana Plá, who pointed out that although the total number of initiatives presented was 36, only 35 were considered admissible by the instance’s Evaluation Commission.

The spokesperson also recalled that the objective of the contest is to finance, in a complementary manner, projects related to the creation, editing and dissemination of programs or supplements of a regional or local nature that reinforce the role of communication in social and cultural development, rescuing the identity of each region.

The projects must report on their economic, social and cultural events, strengthening the educational processes and strategies of each area.

Tatiana Plá also pointed out that, during the evaluation process, a commission made up of a representative of the College of Journalists, the Association of Radio Broadcasters of Chile, the National Press Association, the Regional Council, the Regional Government, and the Regional Ministerial Secretariats of Education , Economy and Government, will review and rate the different proposals according to the established criteria.

“After qualifying and prioritizing them, the projects will be sent to the Regional Government for an evaluation in the Social Commission and finally in the GORE plenary session, which can approve or reject the process, as well as reallocate the amounts assigned by the evaluation commission,” Seremi added.

It should be noted that according to the bases – approved by the GORE plenary session on February 29 -, the total amount to be distributed in the region is $103,878,797 pesos. During last year, the figure was $97,610,219.
