The mayor’s office of Concordia and the University of Magdalena work together to offer more educational opportunities to young people in the region. In the last few hours, Mayor Pedro Jesús Ospino and Pablo Vera Salazar, rector of the University of Magdalena, signed the agreement for the Talento Magdalena program, an initiative that seeks to improve access to higher education for young people in the municipality. This program focuses on the free and regionalization of university education, facilitating access to higher education for outstanding students due to their academic merit.

The Talento Magdalena program focuses on the free and regionalization of university education, offering educational opportunities at no cost to those young people who have demonstrated academic excellence. This inter-institutional collaboration not only guarantees continued support for current program beneficiaries, but also expands the number of places available with an additional 12, allowing more young people to access high-quality higher education.

Mayor Pedro Jesús Ospino stressed his administration’s commitment to the community, highlighting constant efforts to eliminate economic barriers that prevent many young people from accessing higher education. «We work tirelessly so that our young people can realize their dream of entering university. This agreement is a significant step towards the development and progress of our region,” said Ospino.

For his part, Pablo Vera Salazar, rector of the University of Magdalena, highlighted the importance of this alliance for the region, ensuring that education is fundamental for the future of young people and the sustainable development of the municipality of Concordia.
