The fifteenth edition of the Merco Talento study was released, which analyzes the capacity of companies to attract and retain human capital in the country in 2024. Like last year, Ecopetrol occupied the first position at the national level.

The classification was carried out by integrating 11 sources of information between February and June of this year. With a total of 76,371 surveys, the study focused on three values: work quality, employer brand and internal reputation.

“We are seeing how, in recent years, both the satisfaction of company employees and the degree of recommendation to work for their company have been increasing. In 2024, satisfaction stands at 8.89 out of ten, and the degree of recommendation made by collaborators through the ENPS indicator (employee experience indicator within the company) increases from 64.4 percent in 2023 to 71.6 percent in 2024.” said Catalina Londoño Moreno, general director of Merco in Colombia.

In addition to Ecopetrol, the podium of the three best companies in talent attraction and retention is completed Bancolombia and Grupo Nutresa, in that order. Alpina, Bavaria and Sura maintain the fourth, fifth and sixth place they had last year.

For its part, the Public Companies of Medellín (EMP) rose one rank to be in seventh place, moving Nestlé to eighth. Johnson & Johnson climbs two positions, going from eleventh place to ninth place, thus managing to enter the list of the 10 best companies in this section. Finally, tenth place is occupied by Davivienda.

Now, the three sectors with the highest number of companies within the Merco Talento 2024 ranking are: Food with 15 companies, Education-Universities with 14, and the Financial sector with 13 companies.

When broken down by company size, Ecopetrol ranks first for companies with more than 6,000 employees. The same happens with Alpina, but for a range between 3,001 and 6,000 workers. Finally, Nestle is the leader for companies between 1,001 and 3,000 employees and Google between 1 and 1,000 employees.
