Some 50 scholars of the subject participate in the event, including 27 foreign representatives from the seven countries included in this initiative: Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Nicaragua, and Cuba.
Strengthening the learning community through exchange and construction, delving into topics of shared interest by the agroecological groups of the different nations involved, and drawing up strategies for the coming stages, constitute the main objectives of the exchange.
Evaluating the progress of the implementation of the project “Strengthening governance for the territorialization of agroecology in the Cabaiguán municipality” was also an important moment in the agenda discussed on the first day, and the foreign participants learned more about this territory and exchanged with the project coordination team.
As part of the event program, a visit to agroecological farms in Cabaiguán and other territories in the province is planned.
