The project is the beginning to benefit fairgrounders affected by the summer fires and was approved unanimously in the Chamber of Deputies.

The Chamber of Deputies unanimously approved – 127 votes in favor – a draft agreement that seeks to provide subsidies to colleagues affected by the latest fires in Valparaíso and that places emphasis on the delicate tax situation of colleagues in the country.

ASOF national and regional CG in Valparaíso has managed both with the private sector, through the Lo Valledor Market, and with the public sector, through various authorities, support for the fairgrounds affected by the fires last summer.
In total there are 15 colleagues directly affected, a list that was presented to the President of the Chamber, Karol Cariola, on May 24, with the purpose of generating mechanisms that facilitate channeling aid.

With the favorable vote this Wednesday, the response is now in the hands of President Gabriel Boric who must refer it to the competent Ministry, in this case, of Economy, who will have 30 days to provide a response.

The President of ASOF CG, Froilán Flores, attended the session held in the Chamber of Deputies. After the vote he stated that “we are happy, but we know that it is just a first step. Now we have to pay attention to what response the Government will give.”
Finally, he referred to the delicate situation experienced by colleagues in other regions. “We are also extremely concerned about the situation experienced by Illapel colleagues affected by the fire that consumed the Abasto Market. “In the same way, we are asking for support for our colleagues affected in the south by the intense rains that prevent them from working, especially in the Biobío region.”
