They activated the “Code Red” protocol to refer a newborn to Alassia Hospital

This Tuesday, June 18, the Jaime Ferré Hospital requested the referral of a three-day-old newborn to be transferred to the Neonatology Unit (NEO) of the Dr. Orlando Alassia Hospital, located in the city of Santa Fe.

Once the authorization for the transfer was confirmed, the SELIAR 107 Rafaela ambulance carried out the transfer of the newborn. Dr. Ana Zanetti, Head of the Neonatology Unit at the Dr. Jaime Ferré Hospital, accompanied the baby throughout the journey. In order not to waste time and prioritize the health of the infant, the collaboration of 911 from the Santa Fe Police was requested. In this context, the “Code Red” protocol was activated, through which several 911 mobile phones escorted the ambulance to quickly cross the city of Esperanza. Subsequently, another vehicle accompanied the ambulance along the Santa Fe ring road, and on the Iturraspe descent another additional vehicle and two motorcycles joined to make way to the Dr. Orlando Alassia Children’s Hospital.

Thanks to the coordinated work between the SELIAR 107 Rafaela service, the security forces and the traffic inspectors of the city of Esperanza, the baby arrived in perfect condition at the Dr. Orlando Alassia Children’s Hospital. This joint effort allowed the transfer to be carried out efficiently and safely, thus ensuring the integrity and well-being of the newborn.
