In Neiva more than 500 older adults were protagonists at the Pigoanza Theater.

The great folkloric festival of the elderly was adorned by cultural displays by artistic groups made up of older adults who delighted locals and tourists at the Folkloric Festival of the Elderly in the 63rd version of the 2024 bambuco festival.
“We celebrate with more than 500 older adults the most beautiful festivities of San Juan and San Pedro here in the department of Huila, we are reviving those customs and traditions, above all stealing a smile from all these wonderful beings who have taught us for many years to be good Huilenses” stated the Secretary of Women, Family and Social Inclusion, Madeleine Pantoja.
This celebration is also held within the framework of the commemoration of World Day of Awareness of Abuse and Maltreatment in Old Age.
“We have come to represent the elderly and the festival that the Governor of Huila, Rodrigo Villalba Mosquera, prepared for us. We are very grateful to everyone and to God for taking us into account, in these events we had a great time, Thank you very much.” Confirmed Rosalía Tovar Cuellar, from commune 3 of Neiva.
The Folk Festival had the participation of the Municipalities of Agrado, Aipe, Algeciras, Baraya, Campoalegre, Colombia, Gigante, Guadalupe Hobo, Íquira, Nátaga, Oporapa, Palermo, La Plata, San Agustín, Santa María, Tello, Teruel, Timaná , Villavieja, Yaguará, Acevedo and Neiva.
