A 42-year-old man was shot to death in the first minutes of this Wednesday, June 19, on a street in the Martín Fierro neighborhood, west of the city of Granadero Baigorria, north of Rosario.
Judicial and police sources told this newspaper that shortly before 1AM, several phone calls were entered into the 911 system reporting that gunshots had been heard in the area known as “El Arco.”
A few minutes later, police personnel who were patrolling in another sector of the Martín Fierro neighborhood arrived at the scene and found the body of a person on the side of José Hernández Street at 1500, on a large blood stain, seriously injured.
The uniformed officers asked for an ambulance and a while later personnel from Sies (Integrated Health Emergency System) arrived, but the victim had already died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds, several of them to the face and head.
Based on some testimonies collected at the scene, it is presumed that the perpetrators of the attack were two people, not identified at the moment, who intercepted the victim on the public road and, after a brief exchange of words, attacked her with shots. .
Another version indicates that the attackers had been following the victim – who was initially said to be between 25 and 30 years old – for several blocks and that the attack occurred in an area where there was little lighting.
At least 9 served shells and 2 deformed leads were found centimeters from the body, which were preserved and will be sent for appraisal. There was also just over 500 pesos in cash and other personal effects of the victim (a Sube card, a lighter, a pack of cigarettes with a hole from what apparently was a firearm impact, a metallic paper wrapper containing a cannabis flower inside), so in principle it is ruled out that the crime was committed during an attempted robbery.
By order of the current prosecutor of the Intentional Homicide Unit, Georgina Pairola, the body was transferred to the Medical Legal Institute (IML) to undergo an autopsy and identification tests. In the afternoon of Wednesday it was reported that the victim was identified as Renzo Carlos Ariel Nevoso, 42 years old.
In addition, he ordered that personnel from the criminal investigation office and the homicide division of the Investigative Police (PDI) carry out a survey of the scene of the incident, survey traces, demonstrative sketches, photographic expertise, and take testimonies and interviews with people who may provide relevant data for the investigation.
It is the first homicide recorded this year in the city of Granadero Baigorria and the second in the month of June in the Rosario department. Based on own data and the report of the Public Security Observatory of the Santa Fe Ministry of Security, there are already 54 crimes so far this year in the Rosario department (17 in January, 7 in February, 11 in March, 9 in April , 8 in May and 2 in June).
