The conclusions of the Community Resilience to Climate Risks project are presented

Are we prepared to face a climate catastrophe? This is the question that the Climate Resilience Meter for Communities wants to answer, an initiative presented today by the Spanish Red Cross and Zurich Insurance. It is a pioneering project in Spain that seeks to strengthen individual, community and institutional capacities to adapt to natural threats. more and more frequent, such as floods and heat waves. In recent decades, the average number of disasters triggered by natural threats has increased and most of them have a climatic origin. No country or community is safe from them. The project has analyzed the situation of the residents of the neighborhoods of San Cristobal and Vistalegre, in Madrid, and those of Martxalenes, Ciudad Jardín, L’Amistat, Ayora and La Punta in Valencia. This initiative wants to end the lack of knowledge about the resources for managing natural threats, the measures to take in the event of a disaster or the need to have savings to face unforeseen events. All in order to improve social resilience.
