Manuel Marrero Cruz expressed this at the conclusion of the government visit to Sancti Spíritus, prior to the central celebrations for the 71st anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks.

“After the government visit to this territory took place on the 19th and 20th, it can be assured that the agreement of the Political Bureau that grants the headquarters on July 26 to the province of Sancti Spíritus is not only a well-deserved decision, but is well earned by these people,” said Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, at the concluding meeting of the tours and meetings held for two days by vice prime ministers, heads and vice-heads of the different ministries and presidents of various institutes.
Marrero Cruz also highlighted that there are many results that determined the province to obtain the headquarters, among them the infant mortality rate of 3.8, one of the best in the country, but not everything is resolved. However, he stressed, he is pleased to see that work is being done on the problems that most affect the population, such as high prices.
During the meeting it emerged that, although the main problems that the population has today have been identified, it is necessary to increase attention to social centers and all entities can support this in order to guarantee the well-being of the elderly, fundamentally , and also of the most vulnerable population.
In the province there is sustained work, but we must insist on better results in food production, provide the basic basket in time, whose instability brings dissatisfaction to the population and, at the same time, continue the fight to confront corruption, illegalities and distortions between state entities and non-state forms of management, Marrero reiterated.
Prior to the conclusions, the vice prime ministers emphasized the need to increase planting areas in all communities and expand local production of construction materials.
Finally, the Prime Minister congratulated the people of Sancti Spiritus for being a hardworking people that moves forward and noted: “We will be with you, working tirelessly so that in the coming weeks progress will be made in all the works, programs and transformations for this commemoration.”
