With the participation of regional exponents, the XXXII edition of the Senior South American Championship is being developed; the XXII of the South American under-21, youth and cadets and the II South American of para-karate, in Santa Cruz de la Sierra-Bolivia.
This competition is being held with more than 800 karatekas, which include exponents from different parts of this part of the world.
In this pass, exponents of the “Promesas Chile” program, from IND Maule, are being part of this event, where technicians from the region, Alejandro Díaz and Jessy Reyes, are also present.
ATHLETES
Agustina Ormazábal (cadets), Gaspar Orellana (under 21 – 67 kilos category) and Sophia Herrera (female junior +66), are the local exponents who want to give their best shots.
The challenges for athletes are not minor, since, in the case of Sophia, who started in the “Maule Promises” program, which was financed by the Regional Government and executed by the IND, the intention is that “she can get into the medal table and thus can confirm his participation in the Pan American in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in August,” said coach Alejandro Díaz.
On the other hand, Díaz added: “We have prepared a lot for this tournament. It has been an intense year and we want to consolidate what we have been doing. The support of the Promesas Chile psychologist of the IND, the Municipality of Maule and the Regional Government, has been relevant in this new sporting adventure.”
The South American will take place until June 30, a time in which these Maulinos aim to achieve important places.
