The Cali Infrastructure Secretariat continues the work to recover the yellow machinery that has remained, for months, detained in the city’s yard-workshops due to the lack of timely corrective maintenance.
This is added to the constant efforts carried out by this Administration, led by Mayor Alejando Eder, to put into operation 55% of the 130 vehicles are stranded and in a state of abandonment, which has generated delays in the work being carried out. the operational group in the urban and rural areas of the city.
Despite the difficulties, the Infrastructure Secretariat has made appropriate use of the available machinery, optimizing resources and allowing to date more than 14,600 linear meters to be recovered and more than 4,000 holes covered in 16 communes and 33 neighborhoods.
“I want to share with the citizens that we are carrying out two contracting processes to recover this machinery. One with the official supplier of the Caterpillar brand and another competitive process to support the other vehicles,” said Luz Adriana Vásquez Trujillo, Secretary of Infrastructure of Cali.
According to the official, once the contracts are awarded, preventive and corrective maintenance can be carried out on the machinery and heavy fleet vehicles so that they can go to work on Cali’s roads.
“This adds up to an investment of more than 1,000 million pesos to lay the foundations, begin the recovery of the machinery and optimize performance. With little, we have achieved a lot in these five months and by recovering the yellow machinery we will be able to continue meeting the needs of the people of Cali to continue saying ‘bye hollow’,” Vásquez Trujillo insisted.
It is important to mention that, since January, the Infrastructure Secretariat has led efforts to recover this machinery and has ensured that what is in operation can continue to fulfill the mission of recovering the streets of Cali.
