In the First Planning Committee of the PAE School Feeding Program, a request was made to the National Government to guarantee food to more than 53 thousand benefited students in the 75 official educational institutions and in their more than 150 locations.
Another aspect agreed upon was the expansion of coverage to maintain the nutritional components established by the Ministry of National Education to more students in the official sector throughout the District of Santa Marta.
In addition, through the Ministry of Education and the High Council for the Sierra Nevada, working groups were held with the authorities of the indigenous peoples, with the purpose of starting the Own Indigenous Food Program.
“With the Own Indigenous Food Program, more than 3 thousand students will benefit, adding to the 53 thousand that we are already serving in this administration,” declared Adaúlfo Manjarrez Mejía, legal advisor of the District Education Secretariat.
Likewise, the strategic planning and the contractual schedule for the 2025 period were reviewed in detail, in order to timely inform the Uapa Food to Learn Unit of the Ministry of National Education about the administrative, technical and resource needs that we will face in the next period.
«All the secretariats have been instructed to attend efficiently and guarantee from the first day of the 2025 academic calendar, all educational permanence strategies, such as the School Feeding Program, transportation and aid for students with special needs. », emphasized Manjarrez Mejía.
