Due to the heavy snowfall that affects the south of Chubut, dozens of people were stranded at the Trelew Bus Terminal due to road closures.

Fabio Orellano director of the terminal, spoke with FM EL CHUBUT and stated that, on Thursday, “we received nine buses with 68 passengers from different places. We provided them with attention and a heated space.”

In addition to the people housed in the terminal, there are 65 more in the Arturo Roberts de Gaiman home and, as EL CHUBUT learned, the arrival of 45 people is expected. It should be noted that some people would have returned to their places of origin, so the number of stranded individuals would be around 178.

Those affected are waiting for the province’s routes to be enabled after the snow storm passes.

The Municipality of Trelew provides care and food to people. In addition, it is about placing them in different shelters in the city.

In dialogue with FM EL CHUBUT, the Secretary of Government of Trelew, Mario Romeo, declared that “there is a statement from the Province to the Nation to stop sending buses, but there is something that has failed.”

“An El Cóndor transport left 10 people, one of them with a disability, and I heard the driver returning to Buenos Aires. Despite what is happening in Chubut, there are companies that continue selling tickets.”
