The Mayor’s Office of Manizales, through the Ministry of Sports, in order to provide the Manizales community with quality sports venues, will begin the maintenance and adaptation of the skating rinks in the La Enea neighborhood and the Palogrande Sports Unit of the municipality. from Manizales, starting Monday, June 24. Additionally, the contract for the organization of the façade, the sanitary batteries and kitchens of the Palogrande Stadium was also awarded.
“The Mayor’s Office of Manizales, through the Secretariats of Infrastructure and Sports, has just completed the LP-011 award process, which corresponds to the improvement and adaptation of the Palogrande Stadium. This was a proposal that the mayor had made since the campaign period and today it becomes a reality,” said the Secretary of Sports, Diego Fernando Espinosa Benjumea.
In total, three contracts have been awarded for the adaptation and improvement of the Palogrande Sports Unit, totaling more than four billion pesos that will be invested in:
- Hood for court three multifunctional Sports Unit.
- Synthetic floor for courts three and four Sports Unit.
- Area for a sand volleyball court Sports Unit.
- Improvements in metalworking.
- Improvement of the Sports Unit skating rink.
- Maintenance of the façade of the Palogrande Stadium.
- Maintenance and adaptations in the kitchen and sanitary areas of the Palogrande Stadium.
“Mixed zones will also be adapted next to the athletes’ benches, both local and visiting, and the entrance or junction between the stadium and the athletic track, which is called mixed zone. So we are very happy to deliver for our citizens,” added the secretary.
In the coming days, decisions regarding the Palogrande Stadium lighting will be announced.
