UNIMAGDALENA’s “The Route of Opportunities” arrived in Plato! There, Rector Pablo Vera signed an agreement that expands the scope of Talento Magdalena. There are already 113 beneficiaries of the Program in this municipality.

The University of Magdalena was once again the bearer of good news through Rector Pablo Vera Salazar and at the request of the tour that is being carried out in 11 municipalities with the purpose of signing the new cooperation agreements of the Magdalena Talent program. On this occasion the host was the mayor of Plato Armando Campuzano Restrepo.

With that hope and convinced that higher education will change their lives and that of their families, students who are beneficiaries of the Talento Magdalena program and educational institutions received the Rector and his entourage in the Mayor’s auditorium.

The Top Director of the Alma Mater highlighted the joint management carried out with the president of Plato and reported on the fruits of this agreement that, to date, has increased by six new places that are added to the 113 beneficiaries that the municipality of Dish.

“Today we have the possibility for more young people to fulfill their dreams and become professionals in areas of high impact for the territory. The possibility that the House of Higher Studies transforms the lives of boys who come from the most vulnerable sectors and then add value to their municipality, is the purpose of what we are doing,” said Rector Vera Salazar.

Likewise, he insisted that these alliances become public policy: “I ask the Plato Municipal Council to support us so that, regardless of the mayor in office, resources are always assured,” urged Doctor Pablo Vera Salazar.

The hopeful faces of those who aspire to be professionals at the “best university in the world”, because it is the one that offers them opportunities, reflected that Talento Magdalena is the one they needed.

Lorena María De León Bossio, eleventh grade student at the Luis Carlos Galán Sarmiento Departmental Educational Institution, from Plato; one of the six beneficiaries; She considered that the signing of this agreement and the experience of other young people inspire her to continue preparing to achieve the goal of becoming a Professional in International Business.

“For me, these new opportunities that they give us are something phenomenal. I feel more confident in myself to get a scholarship. I am preparing, studying English one or two additional hours a day because the second language is one of the strengths of my career,” said Lorena De León.

In turn, the mayor of Plato Armando Campuzano Restrepo honored UNIMAGDALENA’s commitment to generating opportunities for his municipality.

“Since 2017 when Talento Magdalena started, there are already 113 students; Among those, 19 were born in the town of Apure. Plato remains committed to access to higher education for its young people and therefore signed an agreement worth $133 million 110 thousand pesos that includes the six new places.
