The Minister of Education, Morgan Quero, stated that 67 cases of complaints of sexual crimes against students from Condorcanqui, Amazonas, which were archived, have been reopened. He explained that he, personally, has asked the nation’s prosecutor, Juan Carlos Villena, to reactivate all the investigations that have been in the same situation for several years.

The head of Education gave statements after supervising the works of the Bicentenario School Institución Educativa Santo Domingo de Guzmán, which is currently being built in the district of Chicama, and which, when it is delivered next year, will benefit more than 1,000 primary and secondary school students. He was accompanied by the regional governor of La Libertad, César Acuña, and the mayor of Chicama, Edilberto Bada.

When detailing the measures that are implemented in Amazonas, Minister Morgan Quero said that a regulatory change has been arranged so that, in the Condorcanqui student residences, teachers and assistants are exclusively women, in order to prevent the crimes that have been reported. during years.

Likewise, the minister explained that next August a Gessel camera will be installed in Santa María de Nieva to facilitate the processing of this type of complaints, thanks to the support of the United Nations. He noted that he will also request that a special boat facilitate the transfer of the complainants and their relatives in the area.

“The integrity of girls, boys and adolescents is our priority. For this reason, in Lima we have separated 248 teachers and administrative assistants who have sentences for homicide, terrorism, rape and other serious crimes.”he emphasized.

The Minister of Education participated in the First Meeting of Regional Education Managers and Directors, within the framework of the APEC Forum, and called on all sectors, including teachers and other members of the educational community, to join the Social Pact for Education, which promotes consensus and defines an agenda for Peruvian education in the coming years.
