Ecogas reported that they will stop selling CNG in San Juan for the moment, due to a broken pipe in the province of Mendoza. This was reported by the province’s Fuel Dispensing Chamber, chaired by Miguel Caruso.

Through a statement they expressed that “they just heard from Ecogas, an agricultural machinery broke a pipe and they need CNG not to be dispensed from this moment on,” thus they began to communicate about the problem that caused the breakage of this pipe in the neighboring province.

“There is a brigade on the way to repair, but they don’t know how long it will take. They will communicate as soon as we can restore the sale,” they concluded. This news could leave San Juan residents without CNG for several days until the problem is normalized.

The president of the chamber, Miguel Caruso, spoke with HUARPE DIARY and explained that this preventive measure is taken to avoid leaving the homes of San Juan without gas. “The gas remains in the network. If we absorb that gas to use it to charge vehicles, we take gas to the homes. When the gas injection is cut off to be able to fix the pipe, what remains remains for the homes and not for the industry,” he mentioned.

“A machine punctured a gas pipe and Ecogas informed us to stop dispensing CNG as a matter of giving priority to homes. Industry and service stations are not going to dispense CNG until this pipe has been fixed. They ordered a brigade to solve the problem as quickly as possible and we hope that during the course of the day it will be fixed so that everything returns to normal,” concluded Caruso.
