“In this dynamic, and in the face of a large flow of people, a group of four young subjects tried to dissuade him from his actions, through a conversation at first, to end up by force trying to subdue him and take away his weapon” , he continued.

It was at that moment when “with the intention of killing, he shot the victims,” identified as Renzo Bazán and Alexander Pereira.

Prosecutor Shertzer also announced at the hearing that the accused already had a criminal record, since he recorded a conviction of the year 1998 for the crime of drunk driving resulting in damage and injuries. For this fact he was sentenced to a sentence of 61 days in prison, which he served sentthat is, without effective prison.

The Prosecutor’s case is based on the fact that the victims’ injuries are “the mortal type” and as it turned out, the weapon is duly registered in Iquique, although the accused does not have permission to carry it anywhere in the country. Due to all this background, the judge decreed his preventive prison and set a deadline of 60 days for investigation.
