Ministry of Education led the territorial pre-meeting “Young Guardians of Peace” in Montelíbano, Córdoba

The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Committee to Promote the Guardians of Peace Strategy, held the territorial pre-meeting “Young Guardians of Peace” in Montelíbano, Córdoba.
Montelíbano (Córdoba), June 21, 2024. Approximately 170 young people committed to peace and sustainable development of their communities participated in this event.
Alejandro Corrales, deputy director of Management Support of Higher Education Institutions (IES), led this event, which focused on promoting an agenda of and for the youth of Colombia. This initiative is part of the agency for peace, the protection of the environment and the strengthening of popular and community communication, and will be consolidated in the National Youth Congress in July 2024.
During the meeting, valuable contributions were collected from young people in the region, which contributed to the construction of a youth agenda focused on issues of peace, environment and community communication. Likewise, the preparation of territorial declarations was promoted, fundamental for the consolidation of the Pact for Peace and the Environment of Youth.
Likewise, the mechanism for appointing young people from the territory who will participate in the National Congress of Young Volunteers who Build Peace in July 2024 was supported.
This event is an example of the commitment of the Ministry of National Education to youth empowerment, as well as to the promotion of a culture of peace and sustainability in the country.
